• Clarity over complexity

Accessibility guidance should be understandable — not a maze of jargon and caveats.

  • People first, always

Standards matter, but real people matter more. We keep lived experience at the centre.

  • Progress, not perfection

Starting is better than waiting for perfect. We help organisations take meaningful steps forward.

  • Access for everyone

Genuinely inclusive spaces work for all people — not just those compliance checklists imagine.

Our Mission

Making accessibility clear, practical, and human.

Accessibility can feel complex — but creating spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, and able to participate shouldn’t be. Our mission is to simplify the journey, helping organisations understand what matters and take meaningful action.

We believe accessibility is holistic. Small improvements can create better experiences for everyone — from disabled people and older adults to parents, visitors, customers, and staff. By designing with a wider range of needs in mind, we create spaces and services that work better for all.

Collaborative by nature

We bring together designers, accessibility specialists, occupational therapists, and people with lived experience — because the best solutions come from different perspectives working together.

Real-world focus

We focus on practical solutions that make a difference in everyday life — not just meeting requirements on paper, but creating places people can genuinely use, navigate, and enjoy.

Jess

Spatial & Human-Centred Designer

With a background in spatial design and a focus on human-centred solutions, Jess has spent years creating functional, inclusive environments for schools, workplaces, and public spaces. She's seen how small design decisions can make a big difference — and how confusing guidance leaves organisations unsure where to start.

Emily

Occupational Therapist

Emily specialises in spinal injuries and accessibility in real-world contexts. Her experience helping people navigate barriers in physical spaces has given her a deep understanding of what works — and what doesn't — for inclusion and usability. She's passionate about turning complex requirements into practical, meaningful solutions.

Our Story

Working alongside organisations across Aotearoa, Jess and Emily saw the same challenge again and again: businesses, councils, and community groups wanted to create more inclusive spaces, but were often faced with scattered guidance, inconsistent standards, and unclear next steps.

The need was clear — accessibility shouldn’t feel complicated or out of reach. So they created Veera: combining practical tools, expert knowledge, and real-world experience to make inclusion achievable.
